ConDoc 2D and 3D Assets Overview

ConDoc 2D and 3D Assets Overview

ConDoc Tools provides a full suite of pre-built 2D and 3D assets to jumpstart your documentation workflow in both SketchUp and LayOut. These resources are included automatically when you install the ConDoc Tools RBZ file. This article provides an overview of what’s included, where to find these assets, and how they work within your workflow.

ConDoc 3D Warehouse Resources

ConDoc Tools also provides free downloadable assets on the SketchUp 3D Warehouse. These assets are fully tagged and ready to drop into your workflow. Here’s what’s available:

  • ConDoc 5 Tagged Models: These demo projects are fully tagged and ready to run through the ConDoc system.
Tip: Check the model’s description — many of them include a link to download a complete LayOut file with a full set of drawings.

  • ConDoc 5 Dynamic Window and ConDoc 5 Dynamic Door: These components can be stretched to fit a rough opening and will automatically rebuild themselves. Each component is pre-tagged with both 3D Object and 2D Graphic tags, so they look correct in plans, sections, elevations, and perspectives.

Title Blocks

When you open LayOut and click File > New, you’ll need to go to the My Templates section to access ConDoc title blocks.

We provide both imperial and metric templates in two distinct styles:

  • Presentation Style: Ideal for quick, casual, or conceptual drawings with minimal details on the title block.
  • Construction Document Style: A formal title block design that includes all the information typically required for a permit set or full CD package.

ConDoc Scrapbooks

ConDoc Annotation Scrapbook

This scrapbook includes all of the symbols, tags, labels, and callouts you need to annotate your drawings. It’s available in LayOut under the Scrapbooks panel. To access it, go to Window > Default Tray and make sure the Scrapbooks dialog is checked on and visible. Use the dropdown menu in the Scrapbooks panel to select ConDoc Annotations.

ConDoc 2D Scrapbook

The ConDoc 2D Scrapbook enables 2D drafting directly inside of LayOut. Use it in combination with LayOut’s Scaled Drawing feature to draft scaled plans and elevations without going back into SketchUp. Access it from the same Scrapbooks panel dropdown.

ConDoc Drawings Scrapbook

This scrapbook is auto-generated every time you export drawings from SketchUp using the ConDoc Drawings Export. The file is overwritten each time an export is run, so it always reflects your most recent drawing set.

Alert
The ConDoc Drawings scrapbook is created the first time you run the ConDoc drawing export. If you don’t see the scrapbook after running your first export, close LayOut and reopen it — it should appear in the Scrapbooks panel.

FAQ

Why don’t I see the ConDoc Drawings scrapbook in LayOut?

The ConDoc Drawings scrapbook is generated automatically the first time you export drawings from SketchUp using the ConDoc Drawings export. If this is your first time running ConDoc Tools and you don’t see the scrapbook, simply close LayOut and reopen it. The scrapbook will then appear in the Scrapbooks panel.

Where can I find the ConDoc title blocks?
When you open LayOut and choose File > New, go to the My Templates tab. You’ll find both metric and imperial ConDoc title blocks in two styles: a presentation style for quick, casual drawings and a construction document style for more formal permit sets.
What’s included in the ConDoc Scrapbooks?

The ConDoc installation provides three scrapbooks:

  • ConDoc Annotations Scrapbook: Includes all standard symbols, callouts, and graphics for annotating your drawings.

  • ConDoc Drawings Scrapbook: Automatically generated and updated when you export drawings from SketchUp.

Can I customize the ConDoc title blocks?

What are the ConDoc dynamic components?

ConDoc includes a Dynamic Door and Dynamic Window available in the ConDoc 3D Warehouse collection. These components stretch to fit a rough opening and automatically rebuild themselves. Each one includes a properly configured 3D Object and 2D Graphic, so they look great in plan, section, elevation, and perspective.

Where can I find sample models to test with ConDoc Tools?
You can browse the
ConDoc 5 Tagged Models Collection on 3D Warehouse
. These models are pre-tagged and ready to run with ConDoc. Many also link to a full LayOut drawing set in the description.
