The ConDoc Plan Generator instantly creates unlimited plan views of your project, with just a few clicks. There are 3 different styles included with ConDoc FLEX; CAD, COLOR, and SKETCH.
Step 1: Adjust Visibility
ConDoc FLEX snapshots the current visible tags and hidden objects/geometry, so it is best to adjust these settings before using the Plan Generator. In other words, make your model look the way you want it to look in the final plans by hiding unwanted geometry and objects, and turning off tags.
- Click on the "eye" icon next to tags/layers to toggle visibility for your plans.
- Right-click on objects and geometry and choose "Hide" to exclude them from your plans.

Step 2: Activate the Plan Generator
Click on the Plan Generator icon, or on the Extensions dropdown > ConDoc > ConDoc Tools > Plan Generator to activate the tool.
You will see the ConDoc Plan Generator dialog appear. Fill out the fields based on your project parameters.
- Add the desired amount of above ground levels. If you aren't sure how many levels your project will have, adding extra levels won't cause any disruptions.
- Choose whether you want a basement. If yes, a basement level is added to the Finished Floor Heights fields.
- Assign finished floor heights. These values determine where the section planes are placed for each drawing at each level. The default setting for all ConDoc FLEX plans is to cut at 4' above finished floor. This value can be edited in the Configurator. So if Level 2 is at 10', the section cut for Level 2 plans will be at 14'.
- Finished floor heights are measured from the origin, not the sketching context. Right click on any axis and choose "Reset" to see the origin.
Step 3: Pick a Drawing Type
At the bottom of the Plan Generator dialog are Plan Drawings, check on the plans you wish to create.
- There are three style options; CAD, COLOR, and SKETCH
- Floor Plans cut at 4' above finished floor
- Overhead plans don't use a section cut so they work best for site plans and roof plans
- Reflected ceiling plan section planes are placed at 8' above finished floor and face up. The ConDoc Export flips reflected ceiling plans so they show at the same orientation as the other plans.
- Fill works best with cleaner models that have solid geometry.
The default ConDoc FLEX drawings, styles, and names can be modified using the ConDoc Configurator
After you select the desired plan types and click the "Setup Project", several automations are triggered.
- A scene is created for each plan drawing, for each level, with all "Properties to Save" checked on
- The scenes are named and numbered by level
- The camera view is set to top for typical plans and bottom for reflected plans, set to parallel projection, and saved to the scene
- A style is applied and saved to each scene
- Shadows settings are applied and saved to each scene
- The "CONDOC_3D Object" layer is forced off, and any layers that were left on are saved to the scene
- Any visible geometry that was not hidden is saved to the scene
At this point you can activate the Plan Generator again, then click to add another scene and the sequential numbering will continue. When you are finished, click the DESIGN button to bounce back to a snappy lightweight modeling environment.
Save time by clicking on a ConDoc Elevation scene that already exists before adding another. This way you won't have to toggle layer visibility and hide geometry/objects again.
