Step 1: Adjust Visibility
ConDoc LT snapshots the current visible layers and hidden objects/geometry, so it is best to adjust these settings before using the Perspective Tool. In other words, make your model look the way you want it to look in the final perspective by hiding unwanted geometry and objects, and turning off layers/tags.
- Click on the "eye" icon next to tags/layers to toggle visibility for your perspective.
- Right-click on objects and geometry and choose "Hide" to remove them from your perspective.
Toggle layer visibility
Right-click on objects to hide
Click on the ConDoc Perspective Tool icon, or on the Extensions dropdown > ConDoc > ConDoc Tools > Perspective to activate the tool. You will see you cursor change to the ConDoc Perspective Tool. Navigate to the desired view, then click anywhere on your screen to snapshot the camera location.
Manage toolbars on a PC by right-clicking on any tool icon, or by clicking on the View drop-down > Toolbars/Tool Palettes on PC and Mac.
Step 3: Pick a Drawing Type
Immediately after your click, you will be prompted to pick a perspective drawing type. Click on one to create the perspective scene.
- There are three style options; CAD, Sketch, and Color
- Interior perspectives have "Use sun for shading" checked on with Light/Dark shadow settings inverted to lighten up ceilings
- Exterior perspectives have full shadows casting from the sun position
The default ConDoc LT drawings, styles, and names can be modified using the ConDoc Configurator
After you choose a drawing type, several automations are triggered.
-
A scene is created with all "Properties to Save" checked on
- The scene is named and sequentially numbered
- The current camera view is saved to the scene
- A style is applied
- Shadows settings are applied
- The "CONDOC_2D Graphic" layer is turned forced off, and any layers that were left on are saved to the scene
- Any visible geometry that was not hidden is saved to the scene
At this point you can activate the Perspective Tool again, then click to add another scene and the sequential numbering will continue. When you are finished, click the DESIGN button to bounce back to a snappy lightweight modeling environment.
Save time by clicking on a ConDoc Perspective scene that already exists before adding another. This way you won't have to toggle layer visibility and hide geometry/objects again.
Step 4: ConDoc Export
Once you have created your desired perspective views with the ConDoc Perspective Tool, you can send them to LayOut using the ConDoc Export. Click the ConDoc Export button at the far right of the ConDoc Toolbar.
Architectural scales can only be assigned to "flat" parallel projection drawings, not perspectives. For ConDoc Perspective drawings, you can choose a size of Small, Medium, or Large for the exported viewport. Small perspectives have thin line weights, Large perspectives have wide line weights. The size does not indicate the actual size of the exported drawing (they are all the same), it relates to the size you intend to make the drawing once it is dropped into your presentation.
